Listed below are the courses and programmes available to practice team members.

  • Practice Manager

In July 2018, we launched an accreditation programme for all our existing Practice Managers (PM) – over 400 in total. The year-long programme includes six workshops, on-line learning, tests and a final assessment, which if passed will lead to being a qualified PM as approved by the mydentist academy and endorsed by the ‘Institute of Leadership and Management’ (ILM). Newly appointed PMs will also be enrolled onto our in-house programme. This is the biggest investment we have ever made in our practice management team and illustrates how important we believe their role is to ensure the smooth running of our dental practices.

  • Dental Nursing

In November 2016, mydentist became accredited with the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) to deliver their Diploma in Dental Nursing internally to employed Student Dental Nurses.
Our programme includes online e-learning alongside completion of the NEBDN Record of Experience (eRoE), mock exams and 4 revision workshops. We also have Regionally based Dental Nurse Trainers to support and guide the Student through the programme. It is also fully funded, and once qualified, our nurses receive a pay rise and a bonus for passing.
Since the launch of the programme we have maintained high pass rates and have seen over 200 nurses qualify and become registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). There are currently over 600 Students completing the programme.
Following registration, we have a post qualification policy and application process which is open to Qualified Dental Nurses within the business. Dental Nurses can apply for post qualifications such as Radiography, Oral Health Education and Impression Taking. We encourage development and all applications are considered.

  • Receptionists

In October 2018 we launched our first comprehensive on-line development programme for all our receptionists. The programme includes knowledge, skills and behavioural based modules and an observation and sign-off by the PM to ensure that the level of service provided meets the expected standards. From August 2019 we are delivering face-to-face workshops to our receptionists to enable them to continue to grow their capability.
